The candidates are eagerly waiting for the constable jobs now the new notification has been released. The candidates can apply anywhere across India. Before going to apply for the Staff Selection Commission general duty constable, the candidates have to check their selection process. So the candidates who are eligible can apply for the SSC GD Constable jobs through the online process.
The candidates have to check the selection process like PET (physical Efficiency test), PST (Physical Standard test), Chest, Weight, and Medical Examination. On our page, we will provide you the detailed information regarding the Selection process.
There are different levels in the selection process
Physical Efficiency test (PET)
Based on the performance in CBE, candidates will be shortlisted for the PET/ PST by the commission. Physical Efficiency test (PET) and Physical standard test (PST) will be conducted at various centers finalized by the CAPFs. Detailed scrutiny of candidates' eligibility/ Documents will be undertaken at the time of DME. Therefore, it will be the responsibility of the candidates to verify their eligibility as prescribed in this notice before appearing for CBE/ PET/ PST. candidates shortlisted for PET & PST. The PST shall include measurement of height, weight & Chest
Ex-Servicemen who are shortlisted in the computer-based examination for PET/ PST will have to appear in the PST/ PET the according to measurements for height, chest, and weight Only. There is total relaxation in PST/ PET for EX- Serviceman candidates. However, they will have to qualify for the medical examination
Physical Efficiency test (PET):
Candidates have to clear the race within the following time limits
For candidates other than those belonging to Ladakh Region
Male
5 km in 24 minutes
Female
1.6 km in 8 minutes 30 seconds
For candidates of the Ladakh Region
Male
1.6 km in 6 minutes 30 seconds
Female
800 meters in 4 minutes
A woman candidate, who as a result of tests is found to be pregnant of 12 weeks standing or over, shall be declared temporarily unfit and the appointment is held in abeyance until the confinement is over. The vacancy against which a woman candidate was selected will be kept reserved for her. She will be re-examined for a Physical Efficiency test (PET) six weeks after the date of confinement, Subject to the Production of a medical certificate of fitness from a registered medical practitioner. If she found fit, she may be appointed to the post kept reserved for and allowed the benefit the seniority in accordance with the instruction of the government as amended from time to time
Physical Standard Test (PST)
Physical standards for the posts are as follows
Height
Male: 170 cm
Female: 157 cms
Few categories of candidates are allowed relaxation in the heights mentioned above. Relaxed standards of height for such candidates are as follows
Chest
Male candidates should have the following standards of chest measurements
Un-expanded: 80 cms
Minimum expansions: 5 cm
Few categories of candidates are allowed relaxation in chest measurements.
Female
Chest measurements for female candidates will not be taken. However, it will be ascertained that the chest is well developed
Proportionate to height and age as per the medical standards
Security of eligibility of candidates for relaxations (I.E) height and chest measurement will be carried out after qualifying PET and before PST or by CAPFs/ PST boards
Candidates will be shortlisted for detailed medical examination (DME) from the pool of candidates who are qualified PET/ PST
The shortlisted candidates will be medically by the medical boards constituted by the CAPFs to assess their physical and medical fitness. The medical examination of the candidates will be conducted in the terms of uniform Guidelines for recruitment medical examination for GOs and NGOs in CAPF ad AR issued vide MHA UO No. VI-1/ 2014 - Rectt (SSB)
